Biography

Raewyn is Deputy Chief Executive at Fire and Emergency, where she heads the Office of the Chief Executive. This broad role includes responsibilities for leading the Communications and Engagement, Legal, Women’s Development, Pou Takawaenga Māori/Māori Liaison and Assurance functions. She also has responsibility for leading high-priority programmes of work including the development of Local Advisory Committees and Fire and Emergency’s Positive Workplace Culture programme.

Raewyn’s connection with local government has spanned her career across the public, private and NGO sectors, with previous roles including at Waka Kotahi NZTA, first as the Regional Director Central, then General Manager Governance, Communications and Stakeholders; Chief Executive at Business Central (incorporating Wellington Employers’ Chamber of Commerce); Chief Executive at Bus and Coach Association NZ, Rental Vehicle Association of NZ; and National Operations Manager at Hospitality Association of NZ.

Raewyn is a proud supporter of Wellington Zoo, joining its board in 2014 as a Trustee before becoming Deputy Chair in 2017.
